In clinic treatment plan- what will best benefit your pet and your schedule

Laser therapy plan- what areas need attention and how often laser is needed

5 Steps to Achieve

Follow up- weekly or monthly depending on the agreed exercise plan

Home treatment plan- specific details on how to modify your house for your dog’s condition, a tailored exercise plan you can do at home based on your free time and lifestyle, supplement and product recommendations

Through a 10-week program of exercises and a home program, both dogs developed strong core muscles and can do anything they want to do! They both come in about once a year for 10 weeks to re-up their conditioning. They can’t wait to use the underwater treadmill!

The Results

Daisy and Ralph are two three legged golden retrievers who came to me shortly after adoption. Ralph was first, next came Daisy.

They live on a working farm and their parents are very dedicated to providing the best tripod life possible.

After their adoption, their parents realized they hadn’t adjusted to being a tripod and had difficulties doing certain things, like stairs or jumping in the car. They were to live a very active life on the farm and their parents wanted to take them hiking. So, these kids needed some conditioning!

The Strategy

 A 10-Week Program of exercises
and a Home Program.

jen
[mom of Daisy & Ralph]

Physical therapy with Melinda has been transformative for Ralph and Daisy! As rescued pups that had recently become tripawds, Ralph and Daisy both arrived in our home a bit unsteady on their three legs. I feel so lucky to have quickly connected with Melinda before this led to any problems. She worked with them to strengthen all the right muscles to provide them with the confidence and fitness necessary to live their best lives. Melinda knew exactly how much to push them each week to avoid injury, but maximize progress while also gaining their trust and building a loving bond that had them running inside to say hi at the start of the next session. No matter your individual circumstance, I highly recommend working with Melinda. Ralph and Daisy are strong, confident, healthy tripawds thanks to her!

FAQ

Do I NEED to bring my dog there for rehab? Can’t I just do it at home?

Of course! I am happy to create a home program for you. However, people show better compliance when there is accountability. By coming in weekly or every other week, I’ll be able to track your dog’s progress through weigh-ins, measurements, and functional tests.

What if my dog doesn’t like treats?

Does my insurance cover rehab?

Most insurance plans do include rehab and laser plans. Call your provider to find out specifics.

Do you offer payment plans?

Do I need a referral from my dog’s regular veterinarian?

Yes, all patients need to have a current client-patient relationship with their veterinarian. A current rabies vaccine is also required. Your veterinarian will be sent a referral form to fill out when you book a consultation. I will send your veterinarian an update on your dog’s progress every time we meet. It’s a team effort!

We will work together to find out what motivates your dog, whether it be food, toys, or praise. There are some dogs that will only work at home- that’s ok too, we’ll set up a schedule of check ins (phone call and in person) if your dog is not a fan of working at the facility.

All payments are due at time of services rendered.

I would be honored to help you and your pet live the best life you both deserve!
